Location & Outline
Utsunomiya city is the biggest city of the north Kanko District. It is known as the town of stones which were used as material for the old Imperial Hotel Building, the town of Gyoza(dumpling), the town of Jazz, and the town of bicycle. And It prospered as the gateway to Nikko National Park, and now the gateway to the World Heritage site.
We produce two sightseeing tours. One is for Midtown of Utsunomiya and the other is for Oya area - stone mining business area. This is the information for Midtown.
Where to go

You can choose whichever a walk, cycling, or using a city loop bus. If you decide to use the city loop bus, its fare : ¥500 is included in the one day pass and one plate of dumpling.

Total length is about 6.4kms (4.0miles). Therefore, you can choose which way will you take? A walk, a buses or bicycle.
Price
¥10,000 for a person for a day trip.
And other expenses such as admission fees, tuition, meals, and tickets for buses are required.

How to get there
Take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen (Yamabiko 127) from Tokyo (at 8:08), or Ueno (8:14) to Utsunomiya. It arrives the Utsunomiya station at 9:01. We will meet at the ticket gate or in front of the information center.
Highlight of the tour
Sasara - Japanese Sake Tasting Bar
Searching Utsunomiya city, Finally I found good place for foreign tourists. I tried it the other day. It is a sake tasting bar made by a guild of sake brewery which was set up with 32 companies in Tochigi prefecture. They prepare one hundred and twenty one kinds of Japanese sake. I immediately put it in my tour program. You can buy ten tickets for one small cup of sake for just ¥1,000. If you join our tour, tickets price is included the tour price. Let's enjoy them. But they open from 5PM to 7PM on weekday only. If you have a time, I take you there. You will be able to taste ten kinds of high grade Japanese sake.
Because of too small cups, you think it is few, don't you? I think it was sufficient for me.
